In the Passé Composé, when using a COD pronoun in a negative sentence, “ne…pas” surrounds both the pronoun and the auxiliary verb. For example, “Je ne l’ai pas vu” (I did not see him/it) or “Elle ne les a pas pris” (She did not take them). The past participle must still agree with the COD pronoun.
